I never thought about a crossbow but I would qualify. Thing is I'm done hunting and would like to shoot some targets doing the pull and release thing. Maybe even going back to a recurve instead of a compound. I tore both rotator cuffs on December 17, 00. I was about back to normal then fell and broke 3 ribs heading out to go on vacation. That screwed up my left shoulder again. I can't use the drive through at the bank.

I made a recurve when I was in college. 55 pound pull modeled after a Bear Kodiak bow. I was in a bow hunting club and when someone bought a bow we'd make a model form of it. I made my riser out of cherry, walnut, cherry. Custom sanded to fit my hand. Layered fiberglass, maple, riser, maple, fiberglass to the form. Loaded with glue, wrapped with strips of inner tube and cooked in a boiler for a week.

Then more sanding with plastic gloves and sleeves because of the fiberglass. Made our own arrows out of cedar back then. Sharpened the arrowheads, no inserts. When I went to Germany in the army my parents sent my bow and some arrows over. They forgot the string. I made one using dental floss.

<<Dear me, Ish. Yes. But maybe you can try crossbow. I'd love to use it, but unfortunately they won't let me.>>

In Michigan, if you have a disability preventing you from being able to draw a bow you can apply for a crossbow permit. Just need a Dr.'s signature and an eval from a Physical Therapist.
