Microsoft's System Configuration Editor or "SYSEDIT" program will allow you to access and modify the system configuration files. SYSEDIT can be run in all versions of Windows by selecting START (or FILE from Windows 3.1 or 3.11 Program Manager), RUN and type in SYSEDIT and hit the Enter or Return key. SYSEDIT will open the system's AUTOEXEC.BAT, CONFIG.SYS, WIN.INI and SYSTEM.INI files.
