First impression. This is written from Powell's point of view. "Powell Saves the World." Woodward must not have had converstions with Cheney or Rumsfeld on this. Got what they had to say from NSC notes and Powell/Rice. Sounds like Rice is on his side, to some degree.

Obviously, the Cheney/Powell relationship is very antagonistic. Cheney is portrayed as going public to try to overrule Powell. The President is portrayed as setting back and letting them argue it out, then making up his mind. He does not come across as a "Cowboy" on these issues.

Thanks for posting the Bush At War series...Interestingly, checking the SI search, if one puts in Bush at War, this article/series doesn't come up....BUT if one puts in Bob Woodward....it does.

It's also interesting to check SI search, as one can readily see what poster posted the original article, and then who took it to what board from there....
