"Bias rarely moves discussion forward... Many years ago a professor told me that the only time PhD research is ever really successful is when the researcher "comes clean" on presumptions and biases that underly the research. He said you will never move the research defense if you don't do that because all is criticisable and irresolvable until you do. I have seen this to be true. If its true at that level where defense of the facts is so rigorous, it is so much more true at the everyday level.
