No harm in trying, eh? As they say, there is nothing like trying. Just make sure it ain't gonna be wishful thinking or a pipedream. IMHO, no matter how hard you try or others might try, I don't think you or they will ever succeed, at least not in one's lifetime... Moslems asking others to convert to Islam is nothing new under the sun. They have been asking others to do that voluntarily or forcing them to convert under duress all throughout history. In this regard, other religions had done the same thing. For example, when the Moslem Moors who had occupied Spain for centuries were finally driven out in the 1490s, Moslems were FORCED to convert to Catholicism. So were the Sephardic Jews. Many who converted to Catholicism only did so hypocritically. But the Holy Inquisition soon came into being to enforce loyalty to their new religion. About 1,000 years ago, many Spaniards were forced to embrace Islam under the Moors. Then about 500 years later, some Moors were forced to embrace Catholicism. Now, in our time, Al-Qaeda (not mainstream Islam) are asking Westerners to convert to Islam. What many jokers and ignoramuses don't seem to realize is that this asking others to convert to their religion has been an ongoing thing all throughout history. That the present Al-Qaeda's asking others to convert to Islam strike some as such a big deal (the danger of which is still not grasped by others) is nothing more than an egregious display of their ignorance of history and of their "half-baked nincompoopness" and bigotry. A few acquaintances of mine converted to Islam not because they believe in Muhammad and his teachings but because Islam allows them to have FOUR wives at any one time. They said they were being very practical, since the many ready-made relatives (in-laws) they were able to have quickly would help them in many ways, especially in business and politics. And most important of all, they believe in passing their "excellent" genes to many others to help improve the gene pool!
