It's there because they have nothing to hide. There's abuse but it's mostly the huge land holders. With out the subsidies your small farmer would be gone because there's years they just cant make it with out that subsidy. And they don't always take because it depends on that years crop.
I believe I paid 3.15 for a loaf of bread today and there's about 6 cents worth of grain in it. Compared to what we pay in store and what a farmer is paid we're being ripped off. You run that small farmer out of business and ADM or Cargil picks up all that land. Then see what a loaf of bread costs. It will be more.
