I differ with you on one point: In their own self-interest the Muslim leadership should come out swinging against the likes of Osama bin Laden. Leave no shadow of doubt out there. Condemn it, work to eliminate it. I don't care if Italians or Irish didn't condemn their recalcitrants; their badguys didn't fly planes into buildings. It's in their own interest to condemn such behavior, whether or not it is required by the rest of us.

If I know any Muslims, and I don't think I do, I would judge them on the basis of how they treat me. I wouldn't hold them responsible for 9/11, which of course is completely unfair. Unless they're badguys, in which case they probably wouldn't treat me well and I would be then justified in feeling animosity towards them. I would guess that the ratio of regular honest Americans amongst Muslims is no different from that of other groups.

Your suggestion that I look at it from a different view is well-taken. It takes concerted effort to remain neutral on Muslims, even though they deserve no less until they prove otherwise.

My observation that your world view seems different stems from what I consider to be more thoughtful messages lately. I don't see so many "most stupid individual" messages in your repertoire.
