I was an admirer of Thomas Paine back in college, one of the few non-required books I was willing to spend my money on was his writings, and I still have them. But while he was a firebrand, he was a principled one. He didn't make up facts to suit his biases.

There are plenty of media who rocked the boat back in Florida two years ago. There are plenty of media who covered issues of accusations of voter fraud in various jurisdictions, dead people voting in Chicago, polls being open illegall late in some places, closing illegally early in others. They don't make the 22 minutes of nightly news feeds not to avoid rocking the boat but because, frankly, people don't care, and the news today is about eyeballs and entertainment value.
