David, what do you think of the recent gains in the market? Technician: (with confounded look on his face) I still haven't got a clue! These gains are proving that even a broken clock is right twice a day. They don't call me clueless to my face without a good reason in our firm! Maria: So you think the market is going higher? Technician: Well, we're praying for higher. I personally have taken out $200,000 in credit card loans to buy options on this market. If I'm wrong, I'll just declare bankruptcy. I can't believe these credit card companies would loan money to me. What are they thinking, that I'll pay it back? Maria: But you still think the market will go higher by the end of the year? Technician: Due to seasonal patterns -- just look at last year -- the market is always strong to close out the year. We're being extremely proactive about this at the firm. We've been buying stocks aggressively, then putting strong buys on them the very next day. Our investment bankers are all behind us as most of them will be fired if they don't recoup some of the company's massive losses by year-end. If we're wrong, we're going out with a bang! Our entire firm may be job-hunting! Maria: So David, what do you recommend investors do? Technician: Well, if they really want to make money here, I would strongly advise them to place their funds with a strong solid firm that has a good research team and solid technical analysts. We really don't have much of that here in our firm. I mean, we just downgraded Sun Micro at $3 while we were recommending it all the way down from $64. It's really difficult making money in this market following our advice! Most of our traders have blown their 401(k)s! Maria: David, thanks for being on the show this week. Technician: My pleasure. When can I expect my check? I'm planning to buy even more options!
