If I had thought about it back in my 20s, I would have done it just for kicks. Now that I am mortal, it won't happen unless I am pushed.
LOL!!! In some circles, that's known as "good sense".

Now that I am mortal

LOL...

Once, with the limited funds I had, (plus some bartering) I managed to buy a used go-kart with a respectable motor, except the brakes needed a "little" work. [a minor inconvenience] I must have been 15 or 16 can't remember...

Not having the patience to take it to the proper shop to fix it, I decided to test it... (yes, out there in the public streets)... aaaahh the fix of the speed enhanced the intensity of the immortality I knew I already possessed, in addition, it was invigorating and of course, addictive, so I kept on running until it was dusk, fast getting dark.

There was this blind corner at the bottom of a hill where part of the way was permanently blocked, the open part, I knew, at times was also blocked by a car belonging to the owner of the house on the corner, who parked it next to a post, blocking passage on that spot... but the rush of taking that corner flat out was too much to resist; slowing down to see if the road was blocked or not was not an option... so I dove in, flat out --remember no brakes... As I was approaching, I saw the car parked. Luckily for me, for some reason that particular night the owner had decided to park it slightly away from the post, just enough for me to squeeze and zoom by between the post and certain bumper coming at me very quickly, which I barely saw flash by my side.

What was on the other side of the car? Who knows... as I zoomed by with a nice four wheel drift, I saw the road was clear... Concerned ? not in the slightest... the world OWED me this -gg

Not content with skirting danger, I kept on going up the hill, cross a main avenue and then turn around gathering speed as I was about to cross the same avenue for the second time....

I saw a VW bug that was coming. It was already dark and I had no lights whatsoever, I calculated that I could cross the avenue way before the VW would be even close to me. The thought of the thrill of going down hill at full speed on the way back was enticing enough that I went for it...

Right before the intersection, I lifted the gas pedal to make sure there were no other "obstacles", giving me an instant to consider a last minute "second option" route. It was clear.... I accelerated again full throttle, at such point, the motor hesitated and misfired... enough so for the VW to catch up and in the last instant, the driver must have seen me as he braked hard.... in the last moment, my motor reacted and leaped forward quickly, putting me in the clear... just...

To this day, I have imprinted in my brain, the high pitched screech of the tires, as the VW attempted to stop... AND the bright light of the beams very near me... (as in: "in my face").

Next, I was not only little concerned with what had just happened, my full concentration was on the down hill sector; of course I was flat-out...

Today... well, I believe I have improved... yet to this day, my "wisdom" teeth have never come out... -g
