The Nokia 6650 dual-mode GSM/3GSM phone not only has complete photos and specs firmly published, has been demo'd publicly, and is currently in precommercial trials on live networks and in vendors IOT labs ...

Photos....wooohoooo. I guess Q better close up shop, huh?

Pre-commercial.....did you write PRs for the Pentagon? It's all precommercial until the cash starts coming in. It hasn't. It was precommercial three years ago. It might stay precommercial for a while longer.

Seems to me that the EDGE phone's projected (precommercial?) speed is right within the originally projected precommercial range for the GPRS phone's speeds. The Finns are even calling it EGPRS instead of EDGE. Is it EDGE or not?

Things are not improving but are instead going backwards for your beloved Nords.

Eric L: I see your attempt to be reasonable elsewhere fails here.

You are joking of course.

IJ crying?

Guess we should suggest that Mike Buckley check out this thread re: your views on Dr Irwin Jacobs and Qualcomm management. He must have missed noticing the asparagus you throw at every opportunity here. Sad. Very sad.

But then, you must have your reasons from the past or as a result of your need to support your employers past or present or whatever motivates you - you alone know.

Note: You have never disclosed who you worked for early on, in the near past, or now. Curious. Or is it irrelevant?
You are not influenced by that of course.

Chaz

Well, mea culpa. EDGE lives.

"Whether or not ALL Nokia GSM/3GSM handsets will deliver with EDGE by end of 2004 as they have stated remains to be seen, but Qualcomm best start incorporating EDGE into MSM6xxx or MSM7xxx ASIC roadmaps soon"

Just wish all that EDGE investment was wrapped in the shiny "must-have for both consumer and provider" aura as 1x.

Nice touch having an FM radio and color LCD on the 6200. But, why all the EDGE-power but no Stereo codec for MP3's or a built-in camera?
