Frankly, I am wondering if it might just have been better to somehow insert operatives into IRAQ and assassinate Saddam and family.

I believe it it were possible, it would have been done. Saddam is not a public figure and is seldom seen by his people. He paints his picture on every wall, is on TV every day and in the newpapers.....but they never see Saddam.

He is surrounded only by the most trusted and when there is question, even they are slaughtered.

It is possible to civilize the place without folks taking potshots at us. But we must have the stomach to stick it to the barbarians to such an extent that folks will be writing about it for five hundred years.

We don't even have to police the place. There are no doubt some muslims with at least half a brain who wish to see muslim culture rise from its obvious inferiority and barbarism. After squashing the islamic barbarians and "figuratively," their children and cattle, then we might hand the culture to the decent folks and help them along.
