I'm not doubting the logic of the bear count per se but the depth of the fall suggested. If Dow 12000 in 2000 is equal to 400 in 1929 (which shows that if the valuations are similar the Dow 30 is much less of the economy today) then even another Great Depression shouldn't go below 1200. Bottomline I can understand calls for Dow 3000-4000 but not 400.
