John,

TYC was not a surprise to me. It was mentioned in August 2002 call.

There are thousands of lead acid battery systems around the world. You know all about the hazards due to acid spill, hydrogen leak, corrosion, disposal problems facing lead and sulfuric acid, etc.

Investors should not be surprised by this announcement because Stephan had already mentioned the telecom sector in his August 2001 conf call discussion of his business plan. The economy and the technical glitch with N-Charge put him 1-2 quarters behind his original schedule. Under the tough financial conditions and the impending stock dilution, Stephan and his team are doing much better job than Lev. jmo. Ram

John, it's not that surprising, given that TYC bought a company that had bought HET, and another well-known co. that was a licensee. There are in-house experts in this technology at TYC.

In edit: I see goepling picked up similar info, so I'm just adding another co. to the mix.
