Anybody with a position care to offer a good reason to sell 25% at this price?

Yeah - if 95% of my holdings were in QCOM. Does anyone here have even 50% of their holdings in Qualcomm? What would any of the rest of us think of such a person?

Clark

John Shannon. Many think that the overall market will bottom in 2003. Fundamentally, the whole economy is playing on the verge of a double dip. QCOM may do well in meeting its objectives. However, if the market drops and the wireless industry dips, then the market price of even a well performing QCOM will be pulled down or at least held back. Old men cannot put off forever their estate planning with an uncertain future. It just isn't fair to their families. Dr. J especially, has held off in selling any stock for the last two years. I am sure (he has said so) that he plans to fund some charitable plans in a major way--otherwise his legasy will be diminished and he will not be able to have the satisfaction of seeing these good works put in motion during his life time.

I think the sale makes sense. Perhaps you critics are to young to understand its whisdom.
