A siege is a military maneuver that puts the defense into a position where leaving their stronghold subjects them to an ambush. The proper way to defend against a frontal assault is to set up ambushes against the troops. But if you don't like the way I've used the words, then you're welcome to be my editor. As far as debating tactics go, concentrating on word games is rather ineffectual
