OK, so do the calculation I did using that assumption. I'll save you some time, its even worse for the home owner who buys his house outright if you are honest about the rates of return they can get in other investments of the same risk class.

Hey......what *opportunity* are you talking about? The mattress as a storage place? Many people today are far more concerned about return OF their capital than return ON their capital, and I'm betting it will stay that way for quite a while.
