that makes sense, former joe, and may be what i do.

i've been registering some .dlls (regsvr32 /i urlmon.dll, for example) and unless it's my imagination, the vanishing browser window prob may be subsiding.

if i do elect to go with another pop up stopper program, i might also be tempted to uninstall rather than just not starting NoAds. it's not hard to remove, and not hard to put back, and it may be a more effective test to have the program completely gone from the hd.

Is there any way to fix the time drift I experience in XP home? Sometimes it takes less than a minute for the clock to get off by more than a second. This was never a problem until installing XP Home.

I know there are time utilities that sync your clock automatically. I just don't want them accessing the time server all the time.
