Gore did get more individual ( not electoral, I don't want to start that discussion again) votes than Bush and has a legitimate shot at being the next Democratic candidate. Who else do they have? Hilary? Even Gary Hart is talking about trying. What stopped him from running previously was trivial compared to Clinton's "indiscretions". However, unless the war with Iraq is a total disaster and the economy nose dives, Bush is probably a shoo-in in 2004.
