<<"The MSM6250 chipset and system software will facilitate cost-effective handsets that combine all of the data capabilities and multimedia functionality of our CDMA2000 1X solutions, including advanced position location technology, with global GSM/UMTS network compatibility," said Don Schrock, president of QUALCOMM CDMA Technologies.>>

European service providers choices:

Option 1:

European WCDMA ASIC Cost + 10% All Patent Holder Royalties + all the connection issues + low battery life

Option 2:

MSM6250/MSM6500 ASIC Cost + 5% QCOM Royalty + push talk + snaptrak + increased network capacity + a technology they can trust

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....politics aside the decision would be very easy.
