I can just imagine how "palpable" it will be for you when Ears Windsor is squatting on the throne.

The government aggressively ignores that history
They do? Are they nuts? Canada has to bow to no one in those areas. Anyone who has studied the history of the two World Wars knows of the toughness and bravery of her soldiers.

The government aggressively ignores that history, and really would prefer it would go away, so they can focus on "diversity".

The more de-verse we are, de-werse it gets. :-(

Diversity can help prevent in-breeding, ask any horseman ... it aids ties with the rest of the world as well, and that's important for a trading nation ... remember that we are products of an empire on which the sun never set, the ships kept going round and round, and we intend to keep the best parts of that going ... i would agree that there has been too much focus at times on immigration from certain parts of the world [remember immigration always goes in waves though, they are not trends that last long] .... but there is too small a proportion of our fellow americans the latinos here, imho, we have a great deal in common with them, little in the way of historical connections but we're all New Worlders, and trading partners

Excellent post on party dynamics - #reply-18257250 .... how many Es can we get into the senate, and when?
