Witnessed an E-5 tell a full Commander "to get the hell out of my way" while he was trying to render medical aid to a fallen sailor once....he might have gotten in trouble later on but for the moment the officer stood aside and shut up.

We didn't do any of the medical stuff, just drove ambulances. Cracker box ambulances. 2nd Gen had Pontiac ambulances for when someone was injured.

We hauled people to the cancer treatment center, took people from the medical planes and trains to the hospital, picked up rats heads for rabies tests, and transported bodies from the canoe makers to the mortuary.

In the field we handed out foot powder, bandaids, aspirin and Darvon 65s. Anything else we headed for the hospital.
