Carl - I am not sure you understood my points:

1) There will probably be no change in Turkey's views re Iraq with the coming of the new moderate Islamic government, because Turkey never supported the US in attacking Iraq and that will not change now. Even the previous government said repeatedly that they would not allow the US to use the bases in Southeast Turkey without an OK from the UN.

2) Re EU - I said that the US will probably try to pressure the EU for the membership talks of Turkey into the EU. I have not said "EU having an influence on Turkey to join a US attack". That would indeed be laughable.
