The data that I have shows the peak P/E in 2000 to be about 35.5.

In 2001 the peak was about 31,

and in 2002 the peak was this May at 43.5 (but it was a short lived spike from exceeding earning estimates. The market promptly sold off to a P/E of 31)

The low in the SPX P/E since the bubble burst was Sept of 2001 when it touched 19. That was a real reason to rally, unlike the P/E of 30 we had on the Oct 10th bottom.

Who cares what the current PE is? Market looks forward, basic investing 101. Market is rigged anyway by dem crooks. Looks like they got it rigged goin up.
