Try to hone in on one thing.

You said:

"Feeling embarrassed for someone else is a very strange thing and says quite a bit about you."

I asked what it said about me.

You gave a non-response and told me to think about it. But hinted in the direction of manipulation. I gave you credit for covering that but added some clarification.

1. I don't feel embarrassed for others.
2. Embarrassment is experienced when disgraceful behavior comes to the fore.
3. Feeling embarrassed isn't manipulative, mentioning it might be. In the case of me mentioning it, it is.

PS I don't know what the point of this thread is if it isn't at least partly to influence or sway other people to think about things differently. So in the mundane, we discuss, argue, point this-n-that out. Manipulate carries a slightly stronger connotation than sway for me but I suppose you could use one of its many definitions to make it synonymous if that suits your purposes.
