i don't think it will take even that long to sink Ink. people are starting to figure out that lower-end printers are subsidized and when on sale are the same price as an ink reload on their old printer. in our home we no longer buy cartridges at all, we just toss the old printer and get a new one. (serious printing jobs go to Kinkos anyway). and today's entry-level printers produce output we weren't even dreaming of five years ago.
