The key is understanding the difference between sustaining and disruptive technologies.

WiFi is a sustaining technology. "It's like the Internet only better" could be it's slogan.

CDMA is a disruptive technology. "Imagine what you can do on the go".

My point, long forgotten now, was that I had this conflated and thus discounted CDMA.

FWIW, I get a sense that Qualcomm fans aren't following developments in WiFi close enough. I am sticking to the strictly conservative claims of the WiFi proponents in this analysis. There is a LOT happening in WiFi these days.
