This has been repeated here a gazzilion times Nadine, yet I agree that it is troubling

Well, at least you admit it's "troubling". Can you seriously deny that Arafat is running a terrorist organization, and working hand-in-hand with other terrorist organizations? (I notice you kind of brushed off the OBL connection. Did you also miss the Karine A connection, or the Arafat-signed invoices for bomb belts?) Do you think that Arafat works for the Palestinian people? They don't pay him.

Again, however, the Quartet, and parties involved, have to look beyond the past and work for the future, otherwise there will never be a peaceful and satisfying end to this

What the frip does this mean? Is there a partner for peace on both sides, or isn't there? If there isn't, all the diplomats on the planet flapping their gums won't make a bit of difference.

Let the Quartet put the " roadmap " to the people, without delay, and have them decide their destiny

The roadmap is in the Israeli papers every day. Mitza is for unilateral withdrawal from Gaza and negotiating with the Palestinians (he's careful not to say "Arafat", but without setting conditions everybody knows who it means) in spite of terror. Sounds pro-roadmap, doesn't it? There will be an election in a couple of months. Wait and see how Mitzna does.

Let the vicious cycle of violence turn its wheels again.

If you keep calling everything a cycle then you can't notice the direction of events. The terror will reach a crescendo now because Arafat is running interference for Saddam -- on Saddam's orders and with Saddam's money. Saddam has already paid over $25 million to the Palestinians.

Not unnaturally, the latest poll says that 62% of Palestinians think they should support Saddam. I wonder if Arafat will openly support Saddam again this time?
