Would have been nice if the American People had been apprised of that fact. Wonder what we'll find out about Clinton's health 40 years from now.

A major part of Kennedy's campaign plank, was that Ike's Administration had allowed the Soviets to pass the United States in arms technology (and quantity). It was Kennedy's plan to have a massive military buildup. It was Kennedy, who chose a corporate officer from one of America's largest industrial corporations (and major military contractor) as his Sec. of Defense.

When Eisenhower warned about the "military industrial complex" he was taking direct aim at Kennedy's plans for a massive peacetime military build up (and defending his policies).

That being said, none of this means that Kennedy was wrong...or you correct.
