Warp,

Fwiw, I've played with your SOX chart through a few different time periods and looked at the sticks. I think you're on safer ground to either 1) see a turn or 2) go back to your bullish RSI inflection point:

stockcharts.com[w,a]dbclyyay[pc20!c50!i][vc60][iLb4!Lb8!Lh14,3!Lc5]&pref=G

I don't know exactly which instrument would give you volume bars for the SOX.

Those would be helpful in coming toward a conclusion.

But since March 00, shorting as these levels has had an excellent reward-risk ratio.

IMO part of the reason that we're having this rally right now is due to short covering.

The article posted by energyplay IMO made a lot of sense.

This rally is "telling me" that shorting right now is more risky than it would have been in the past. IMO quite a few factors have changed since March 2000 that might influence this rally for the next few weeks or months. So...just because this indication has "worked" in the past, it doesn't mean it will "work" right now.

Maybe it is just my perception of the "market mood" right now, but this market seems to want to rally. We seem to be in a period where all news, "good or bad news" is viewed by the market as "good news".
