Hi Carranza! Maybe this was before your time following all of this but a couple of years back when many of us here and elsewhere still harbored hopes for both Loral and Globalstar I put myself in position of a gnat on Bernie's nose as I asked if anyone wanted me to speak or inquire on their behalf with management. A lot of us were really, really pissed. Long story short I DID get to "speak with the great man(haha)" on behalf of holders of nearly 800,000 shares. I got calls and e-mails from employees AT WORK AT LORAL!! even, including communications from VP's of divisions who were disgruntled with their crooked boss who watched first and foremost after his own ass. The volume and content of e-mails I received in 48 hours was absolutely astounding. I was asked at one point in a PM for my phone number and was told on the call that followed that our rucus here on SI was even talk on floors of Loral. It just meant a lot of people had reached their limit of tolerance of lying CEO's. I posted the results of our "conversation" and promptly sold all my Loral shares, totally convinced as were many others that Bernard Schwartz of Loral was simply a self serving, arrogant, conceited, condescending sonofabitch, his shareholders be damned. That was before by a considerable time the falls of such titans as WCOM, ENE, and Global Crossing. My inquiry was simply posing the question of whether yet justice has been served where that particular individual is concerned. As far as Gilder is concerned he gives me a belly laugh, thank you for the heads up on his latest opinion of Bernie.
BTW, I got such input on guarantee of anonymity by swearing secrecy on the heads of my Rottweilers...I guess that had the ring of truth and indeed I do take such an pledge seriously so I guess that is why I got so much input.
It came to nothing except for getting some of us out of Loral
many dollars a share ago. And I learned first hand to detest the mentality and dishonesty of management in many companies.
Live and learn. Still hope Mq gets himself some gold.
