If I remember correctly at a time DEC was still around and slowly going down the drain every time they fired people or made cuts in their R&D the stock rallied substantially. DEC was merged into CPQ at the end and nothing came out of their extensive base of knowledge including their proprietary processor (superior to INTC at the time)

Now DEC reminisce if there are any are folded into HPQ ......... it is sad story both for DEC and the original HWP who had so many novel innovation in the semi industry starting with novel semiconductor substrates, magnetic semi's to super conducting materials to LED's & GaS IC's etc.

All those vast amounts of knowledge ending up to make INK under a clueless arrogant person
