i'm glad to hear that. being a slave to anything sort of takes away the joy of "ownership" <gg>

actually it's not the house the borrowers are slave to it's the mortgagor...

A young couple, friends of mine, were seriously talking about buying a 5,000 sf home,

Tell them to rent a house that size for a few months. Once they see the maintenance and cleaning headaches involved... they'll back away... trust me I know!!

Huge houses like that also usually have a lot of windows... beautiful to look at but try to heat the place, forget it. And then there's the worst luxury of all from a maintenance standpoint.... a pool!
