That chart Velo posted is very similar to historical fractals used by anon, who is a whiz in that stuff. The ratio is 12-days on the historic chart to 1-day on the current chart.

If the pattern continues, it infers a 30% drop in the S&P from near this level around mid-January. My preference is a re-test of the lows in the end of December, a rise for early January, and a dump into the spring to levels near 1/2 of where we are.
