I know a guy that did that kind of programming. If they saw that triangle on the NDX/COMP, it would be programmed to buy all the way to COMP 1500 from the lows Tuesday.

When I think of program trading I tend to think of arbitrage. If there are that many directional trading boxes operating in the markets what would have been the buy trigger on tuesday morning?
