I'll try to look at your list this weekend.

Hi Bernard,

I am finally get a chance to sit down and answer your question.

To start with what is your time frame? Technically, we
are still in a bear till we break 1588 on the COMPX, so
investing is out of the question.

There has been nothing in the conference calls I have heard to suggest that we won't see another 12 to 18 months of the
bear market( given that we are back to a more traditional 7
year economic cycle). It will probably be earlier than that
as Bush should be turning on the spending taps soon to
pave the way for the next election.

Of your list, VRTS looks the strongest. It has broken the down trend and established a new up trend.

Trapped between the 100 and 200 day EMA. Nice positive OBV
trend. A little concerned about the volume the last few
days, but if it can hold the 100 day EMA on a re-tracement
it should have an easy run to the 200 day EMA for about 3
points.

QLGC has the second strongest chart on your list. Decent new up trend.

A potential double top is forming though. Short term it is
overbought. It needs to be able to survive a re-test of the
$38 level. It has good supporting OBV. I would not chase it
though. Wait for the re-test to happen and hold.

In terms of investing, I posted two valuation scans today
on the thread. I have to admit I am having a tough time
finding anything that jumps out at me. Given that this is the case, caution is advised on any long positions. Third
tier stocks like MWAV and WFII have finally moved. Usually
when that happens, the rally is getting tired. We need
money to rotate into the big cap techs like QCOM, INTC,
NSFT, ORCL and MSFT before the market can move higher.

BEAS looks like a decent trader if it pull back to the 10
area and survives the re-test.

Sorry, no fundamentals. I am still trying to catch up on CC's.

The following stocks showed up on a scan. They have either
crossed the 100 day EMA on volume greater than the 60 day
moving average or are on the verge of crossing to the up
side. Note that stocks whose OBV is greater than the
level during the August rally are considered strong
than normal. They should follow through if the rally
continues.

Watch for a continuation of the break out to scalp
a few points or wait for a re-trace to the 100 EMA
to enter if the test is successful.

ALSC - needs to break August OBV high, semiconductor
ASYS - no verge of 100 day EMA cross, needs OBV Aug break out, low vol stock, semi-equipment
