I go to McD's as opposed to Wendy's or Burger King. Hey if u gotta eat junk, u might as well go the 'king of junk food'!!

Also, I like their crisp fries, altho' I know its crisp because its 'reconstituted potato' - look at the air bubbles in them, next time you order some! Often, I've waited on the side, just to make sure a fresh load of fries is getting cooked.

using "healthy" oil.

Pulling the lard ruins the taste, IMO. My first job out of college was Selling Crisco and Fluffo in Watts. Fluffo was a mixture of Cottonseed oil and lard. Did a huge business with both.

BEA is the only acceptable (excellent!) brand of potatoes for FF. Not frozen on course. No palm oil either, I do understand MCD fringe benefits necessity, but the taste and smell are awful. Oil Temp 200°C (392°F) first bath; 180°C (345°F) second... till they get a healthy suntan, thus the % of oil is low.

Please let me know when the fast food outfits will be able to comply with the above.

My favorite burger joint (chain) is Fuddrucker's. Which also does not have good fries, but the burgers are pretty good.

If you're ever in Houston, find a Beck's Prime. They beat Fuddruckers by a mile. Expensive, but damn good. And their shakes are the best. All their food is fresh made, cooked to order. They literally MAKE the hamburger from a side of beef every morning. The shakes are made with real dairy cream. Their steaks are pretty good, for a fast food joint. If you only have a half hour for lunch, and want a steak, Beck's is the place. MMM!

Derek

PS: Mesquite fired grills too. No gas cooking or convection cookers.
