The US trade embargo against Cuba is pointless. It has been in effect for 40 years, has accomplished nothing, and is so widely ignored by other nations (such as yours) as to be pointless. Better to corrupt them by making them rich. :-) It is solely a product of US domestic politics at this point. We have let in masses of rabid anti-Fidel Cubanos as "political refugees". Now they hold the key to Florida and no President dares to ignore them. The stupidity of political amnesty is that it creates situations like these AND relieves domestic pressure on the dictators that are being opposed!
