The Second Amendment and the government's defense thereof is a clear and unmistakable sign that the government can be trusted. Why? because they say so? It's not that NRA guys are currently in conflict with the U.S. government (although a few ruby-ridge and jack-booted thug afficianados seem to be). There is no safety in keeping one promise while breaking all others unless there is something special about that particular promise. The implication from the NRA and Ashcroft is that the special part of that promise is that an armed citizen can proect his own freedom. That is the joke they pass off on you. HA HA TP
