We overthrew a war weary government in a country that had already been bombed back into the dark ages, wherein a the Taliban that we "eradicated" arose after we moved in and then out again.

Actually Karen, we have taken the first step in breathing renewed life into Afghanistan. One only has to observe the hundreds of thousands of refugees who are returning to the country.

And it was mainly OUR soldiers who were riding the horses, along with the NA troops... The Taliban had their Bin Laden provided Toyotas...

George Tenet had to concede that the threat from al-Qaida and associated jihadist groups was as serious as before September 11."

No kidding!!!??? You mean they are only now getting really really "triple super-duper mad" at us?? I mean, they inflicted Billions in physical damage and trillions in economic damage (market) and they are only NOW getting really serious??

Karen... we are at war. They aren't going to stop coming after us because we represent not only the prime target representing the power of western values, but attacking us makes them appear more powerful.

But we haven't lost this war (yet).. In fact, the war has been raging since 1922, and the US is only the most recent battleground for the Islamic militants. The war will go on...

What HAS changed is that we're no longer IGNORING the fact that they have declared war upon us...

What we have to worry about is insuring that the likelihood of another catastrophic attack as occurred on 9/11 never takes place.

But we're going to see more attacks, and more casualties... On both sides..

And it will remain that way until the Wahabbis are destroyed as a viable sect of Islam, and their followers either neutralized or killed.

And btw, while I don't encourage or advocate smothering POW's, they were prisoners of the NA, not the US. There was not a lot of control over their fate, nor a lot of motivation to complain..

Look what they did to that Navy SEAL who fell out of his helicopter during Operation Anaconda... This will oftentimes be a war with no quarter asked or given..
