You shelter our outlaws and we shelter yours.
LOL!!!
Actually, I couldn't think of any Candians we had sheltered off hand.

A few miles from here is the northern end of the Soo line from Chicago where Al Capone made millions brewing whiskey during prohibition.
Joseph Kennedy, first Bandito-in-Command of the SEC and the father of that great liberal icon JFK, also ran whiskey across the Great Lakes during Prohibition. And he wasn't taking it to Canada. :-)

(You had better sense than to try such an amazingly idiotic thing.)

the Riel Rebellion (our Civil War).
What was this?

What most Canadians fail to recognize is we would not exist in our present form without a large powerful friendly nation such as the U.S. to the south.
I have often thought the US is d**ned lucky to have Canada for a neighbor. Can you imagine what it would be like for us to have a bitter enemy sharing such a long border with us?

The fact our similarities outweigh our differences
Agreed. Both are democracies and both are fairly capitalistic.

and of course there are business reasons as well justify the nation for good and bad.
What do you mean by this?
