I've always said that unless the poets, painters, and writers can explain forestry to people, it is doomed. Plenty of people who claim to be poets, painters, and writers have written about forestry from the negative side, but they are tainted by their ideology.

I know precious few poets who have taken it on positively, and few writers.

Here's an artist who is doing it, though. I think his paintings are wonderful! You can even order Christmas cards from him! kenbrauner.com

For my part I love skillfully-worked and finished hardwood. Trees are a renewable resource. Failure to clear kindling or harvest and re-plant forest out of resentment that there is a private sector profit in doing so is the sign of a society committing cultural suicide.

The Marxist/Leninist environmental insanity threatens both trees and the people who benefit from them-which is all of us. Every year we see trees burn (as opposed to churches) due to the intentional negligence of those charlatans who claim to be defending them. If we chose the insanity of the Marxist/Leninist anti-humanity environmental movement, the beautiful trees that have been planted by wiser Americans will not only outlive us individually, but outlive the free Republic our betters created, defended, and bequeathed to us...
