My perspective is out of line with what is happening there is no doubt. But declining earnings or no earnings and an SPX PE of over 50 is not the base the new long term bull can be built on. Doesn't mean the SPX wont go to 1000 in the mean time though.

faq, The CEO clown of NSM is the real driver today I think. With flat to declining sales this quarter and his own admission that he has limited visibility to next quarter, he is out touting for the second time inn 2 weeks that the semiconductor industry will have bottomed and will be in rebound mode in June. That would appear to be pure speculation and not necessarily based in fact. If any of the Tech leaders were out pointing to a bottom being in and that sales were stable to increasing, you could better argue the point. For the most part, the news has been flat to declining across most technology barriers. Wireless networking seems to be the one area that has reached an uptick in order activity from what I have read.
