There have been other instances over the last two years, where single Israelis have been shot in Arab neighborhoods. These events only get publicity in Israeli papers. Some were particularly sad. I remember one Israeli, Tunisian born, who was having breakfast at a restaurant in a very quiet Arab village. The restaurant was owned by a family that he was very close friends with, in fact he had loaned the owner his startup money. The weeping owner said of the dead man, "He was just like us, in language, in outlook. He was part of the family. If he had prayed with us, then he would have been like us in everything." I was glad to see that the villagers said that the Israeli soldiers who came to investigate sized up the situation and gave the villagers no trouble.
