I understand that point of view.

But on the other side, to those who knew and loved Monica, nothing could smear her name. Do you think less of Monica because of what X said about her? Or only less of X?

Karen talked about free speech vs. impulse control, and I agree. But to you think we should impose rules, laws, or whatever to prohibit people from speaking ill of the dead if their own sense of decency and impulse control doesn't prevent them?

I'm sorry if I seem overly intellectual and under emotional about this, but for myself, my memories and affection for Monica aren't affected by anything X may say about her.

If that's not true for others, they are free to fight their own battles. But I personally don't feel a need to join those battles, having enough of my own to fight. <g>
