Now, what you need to face is that none of this makes war inevitable

I do. If Saddam is overthrown in a coup then war is indeed not inevitable. (You've also neatly glossed over the fact that you opposed all the policies that achieved this progress) However, to seriously propose that Saddam is going to turn over a new leaf and cooperate with the inspection is a true triumph of naive hope over long and bitter experience. It brings to mind the wonderful line from The Bridges of Madison County: "It must be nice to live in your mind with Peter Pan and the Easter Bunny"
