Japanese brutality to prisoners of war during WWII was mind-boggling, on a par with the Nazis.

With a few exceptions the Nazis treated POW's very well. The hatred between the Japanese and our troops was extremely high. In the very unlikely case that a Marine was captured alive by the Japs, he was tortured to death. The Japs would come out of a cave wearing only a loincloth, and when an American Soldier got close enough, pull a grenade from under the loincloth. Our troops deliberately "Took No Prisoners" in the Pacific.
