As I understand it people want the issue stopped. It isn't that E wants you to stop or that you want E to stop or that you want E to give you something or visa versa. If E stops but you will drive the issue in a direction that she abhors; that is not just stopping, that is continuing in the wrong direction from her perspective as it would be for you if the reverse were happening.

The thing to ask is, why do people need recipriocity?

Surely, you see the difference its more like a truce than reciprocity. Apples and oranges.

I completely agree.

Tell X that. She has said she enjoyed "needling," and has indicated that she won't stop it.

Tell her to just say no.

Or I have an idea.

We just all stop, and all agree to monitor X for anti-social trouble-causing revisionist cracks and nasty "needling."!

If she doesn't start the needling, great! She won't have had to compromise her "principles" yet will have a chance to show- by- doing!

And then you won't carry out your threat to sexually harass me, and I won't be reminding X and you of things you'd as soon forget when nasty cracks and revisionism takes place, because it won't be taking place.
