My point is, the "metrics" you mention are just someone's determination of what is important to THEM, and these items have no specific accounting meaning (thus the reason for requesting you clarify YOUR meaning of the word "churn").

I have to disagree. The "metrics" I mention are accounting terminology that is a STANDARD basis for subscriber models. Terms such as CPGA, Churn, etc.

What there is not a clear industry standard term for is "Subscriber Acquisition Costs". In this case. The term ""Subscriber Acquisition Costs"" as reffered to by XM means what they want it to mean. Which is basically valueless in determining what it really costs them to add a subscriber. So you have to use what few metrics they do provide and try and relate those into more specific metrics.. So while they XM may claim thier version of ""Subscriber Acquisition Costs" are only $130 dollars. In reality, a quick check of the Cash Flows tells you a much different story. Actually, well in excess of $400 dollars.
