Bill, His treatment of Tet was one of the areas where I nitpicked him. The other thing I disliked is that he gave the Mongols the bum's rush. If they hadn't started fighting each other, I don't think any power in Europe could have withstood them. We Europeans were just lucky that every time The Golden Horde headed toward Europe, The Persian Horde of The Il-Khan attacked them from the south. And every time the Il-Khan mounted an invasion into Syria and Egypt against the Mamelukes, the Golden Horde attacked him from the north. While Kublai Khan fiddled around conquering China and had neither the time nor the spare troops to discipline his brother the Il-Khan or his cousins in The Golden Horde. Jerry Douglas gets a lot of work on the Krauss solo album.
